abstract

in order to investigate the effect of partial replacement of barley starch with beet pulp soluble fiber with or without roasted canola seed on apparent nutrient digestibility, dry matter intake, daily weight gain, feed conversion ratio and rumenal ph 24 arabian male lambs were used for 84 days in a completely randomized design with a 2×2 factorial arrangement. treatments had no significant effect on the dry matter intake, feed conversion ratio, and apparent digestibility of protein and organic matter (p>0.05). high starch diets compared with high soluble fiber diets caused a significant decrease in the digestibility of dm, om, adf and ndf (p

Effect of thymol and carvacrol on nutrient digestibility in rams fed high or low concentrate diets

Published data on the effects of essential oils (EO) on in vivo nutrient digestibility in sheep are contradictory. In 2 experiments, the effect of thymol and carvacrol on nutrient digestibility was studied in sheep fed with high (70%) or low (52%) concentrate diets, using incomplete Latin Square designs. The essential oils were mixed with the concentrate portion of the diet at the rate of 0.0, ...

The Effect of Canola Seed (Raw and Roasted) and Dietary Concentrate Level on Growth Performance and Quantitative and Qualitative Carcass Traits of Lori Male Lambs

This study was conducted to investigate the effect of canola seed (raw and roasted) and diet concentrate levels on growth performance and quantitative and qualitative characteristics of carcass of Lori male lambs. A total of 54 male 30±0.86kg lambs were selected for the experiment. Treatments consisted of two levels of canola seed (raw and roasted) and three levels of concentrate (60, 70 and 80...
